La Ferme Anse au Sable
In 1980 an abandoned property was bought on the island of Perrot. A lot of work was done to put it back into production. The previous owners had destroyed the beautiful hawthorns, willows and aspens. The rotten remains of the old barbed wire fences that surrounded the land were mere posts, and the half-collapsed barns also needed to be removed. So much misery at the beginning! But looking this splendor, one wonders: “How could someone have abandoned these magnificent fertile lands?”
Today, it produces grains and a variety of fruits and vegetables. On the farm, there is also a magnificent orchard of 1000 apple trees producing many varieties. If this land gives us its treasures again, it is thanks to all the workers who have come here to lend their strong hands to regain its productivity!
